Centaurea cyanus polka dot. Cornflower is a European-native annual that is very tolerant to droughts. Prefers full sun in many soil types. Its leaves have a blue-gray appearance aas a result of a covering of many small white hairs. Produces many flowers. Grows to 2-3 ft., with a germination rate of seven to ten days. Average planting success is 80%. Blooms from March to May. Plant 4 lbs. per acre.
